Starting today, we’re going to introduce you to the speakers of WordCamp Split. After Tomaž Zaman (who will open WordCamp Split as the favorite speaker from last year), we are happy to announce our next speaker Nevena Tomović.
Nevena have been working for ManageWP and is a true polyglot, fluently speaking English, Italian, German and Serbian. We asked Nevena to tell us more about herself.
Currently I am working in content marketing as a growth engineer at ManageWP. I am actually a qualified conference interpreter and translator, with a BA from UCL and a MA from Leeds University. My whole family are medical, so I decided to study languages, and since then I have been writing, translating and learning new languages. I speak English, Italian, German and Serbian fluently, and I am learning Spanish at the moment. Apart from being a quintessential bookworm, I am a covert adrenaline junkie. I enjoy heli skiing, ice hockey, and aerial gymnastics.
For herself, Nevena says that she’s quite new to WordPress and still can’t believe the size of the WordPress community. Working for ManageWP gives her opportunity to get acquainted to WordPress, as there are may WordCamp organizers and volunteers in the team. Talking with users (and she talks to the users that manage 50 websites on average) is also helpful to have this fast learning curve.
The Talk
Nevena’s talk is titled “How To Grow Your Business By Producing Quality Blog Posts?“. We asked her to tell us more about it.
I will talk about content and how producing quality content can grow your business. Too often people don’t pay enough attention to their blog, and fail to see how effective it can be in customer acquisition and retention. Having a good product is important, but having a good product that no one knows about is a shame. I will take you through the steps of setting content goals, organizing your content plan and tracking your results. Think of your blog as your online voice, if you want to be heard you need to find a way of writing posts that represent your business and your product.
My talk isn’t aimed just at business bloggers, it’s aimed at anyone who has ever thought about blogging, and has asked the question “What’s the point in blogging?”.
