Design paradigms have changed over time, especially when we talk about web design. More devices with more resolutions; users that access our websites with assistive devices and from their mobile data connections, now \u2014 more than ever \u2014 we have to adopt to this\u00a0new web<\/strong>. Lucijan will tell us more about how to move the design process to the browser.<\/p>\n

Lucijan for himself says that he’s a front\u2013end designer, casual gamer and a big ABBA fan. How he started\u00a0started with WordPress?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Like most WordPress developers, I’ve started with Joomla. \ud83d\ude42 With WordPress gaining momentum and really great improvement on the back\u2013end and front\u2013end, for developers and users alike \u2014 it was natural decision to switch. One of my first WordPress themes is still in active use today http:\/\/www.ubuntu-hr.org\/<\/a> (probably built from all the worst practices, according to today standards). Although I don’t do much WordPress theme development nowadays (mostly for my personal blog theme) I try to contribute in my free time by helping organize meetups and sharing my experience.<\/em><\/p>\n

You will talk about something<\/a> that a lot of designers still don’t do \u2013 but we see this number change everyday. What “designing in the browsers basically means”?<\/strong><\/p>\n

It\u00a0is basically a nice way to say “don’t over\u2013design in Photoshop and dedicate additional budget for front\u2013end if possible, where most of design decisions will affect actual users, for the better”. It’s an all round talk about my process to designing websites and benefits of creating style guides and improving design through code with strong emphasis on usability and accessibility. The topic is especially important for smaller teams and companies where roles are not clearly separated. Designers and developers should work together \u2014 now more than ever \u2014 and designing in the browser keeps both parties engaged in making informed decisions based on actual feedback and not assumptions.<\/em><\/p>\n
